Please note: Our quilted bags are made from cotton fabrics and are not heatproof or waterproof. We recommend allowing hair tools to fully cool before placing them inside.

Bag Shipping Info

Our bags are not made to order, as we’re super busy with our handmade scrubs. Instead, we will release them in small drops once they’re completed. This means your bag will ship right away, unless purchased alongside a made to order item, in which case your entire order will be shipped together once everything is ready. Can’t wait to get your hands on a bag? We totally get it - they’re gorgeous! We recommend placing a separate order so it arrives sooner.

One of a Kind

Some of our bag fabrics come straight from my mum’s decades-old fabric stash (basically vintage!), so every piece has its own story and is guaranteed to be truly unique and stand out from the rest. Some of our fabrics are super limited, so if you’ve fallen in love with a print - grab it while you can, once it’s gone, it’s gone!

About Our Brand

Welcome to Third Generation Threads

We are a small, family-run Australian business built on creativity, resilience and a whole lot of heart. 

Third Generation Threads was founded by myself, Alex. Alongside my incredible mother Pam and my inspiring Nan, Dawn. Every piece we create is handmade with love, care and decades of combined experience.

Alex, I’m a Registered Nurse, whom up until June 2024, was working full time. Following a traumatic accident overseas and 13 surgeries later, I was unable to return to work. During this time, I reconnected with my families passion for sewing, quilting and creating - and Third Generation Threads was born. 

Pam (aka Mum) is a true jack of all trades - from quilting and sewing to manual arts. She had placed her own career on hold to support myself during my long road of recovery, showing up everyday without doubt. 

Dawn (aka Nan), the true inspiration behind it all. With decades of experience in seam stressing, pattern making, quilting, embroidery, knitting, crocheting and much much more. She’s the heart of our creations and the reason why I do what I do. I would not have been sewing today, if it wasn’t for her teaching me when I was young. 

Already working in healthcare, I have found it difficult to get scrubs that were both good quality and full of personality - so we decided to make our own. Our pieces are handmade using 100% cotton materials, designed for comfort, durability and fun - to brighten our own and our patients day.
